1956

BUSINESS COMMENCES

Graham Lake enters the Petroleum business, from being an electrician converting manual pumps to electricity within the Albury Wodonga area, to managing the BP Depot in Mildura.

1957-1972

A PARTNERSHIP FORMS

Graham Lake enters partnership with Max Johnston that spanned 16 years, together they create Lake & Johnston which delivered a range of bulk fuel & lubricants within the Sunraysia Area.

1973

NEW COMPANY NAME

Lake & Johnston continued to deliver a range of bulk fuel & lubricants within the Sunraysia Area, now operating under the name change of Konini Pty Ltd with Graham Lake as principal.

1986

30TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS

The company celebrates a major milestone of reaching 30 years within business. From humble beginnings to 30 years within business, the company & staff thrives.

1990-1995

RETIREMENT & FURTHER EXPANSION

Graham Lake retires in 1990 and son Ross Lake becomes managing director of the company. TASCO Inland is created and an equity with MOBIL is formed.

1995-1999

EXPANSION TO BROKEN HILL

TASCO Inland expands north to Broken Hill with the acquisition of B & S Petroleum, along with it some retail sites & the Broken Hill Depot and staff. In 1999 the company further consolidated operations in Swan Hill by purchasing an existing local BP distributor.

2006

POWER MERGER

The company expands further east with the acquisition of fuel company Power Petroleum, along with it a secondary head office in Albury, new depots in Wagga Wagga and Benalla and many staff, which continue to work for TASCO Inland within the eastern part of the company today.

2009

CALTEX PARTNERSHIP IS FORMED

With Mobil deciding to no longer maintain a retail presence in Australia in 2009, TASCO Inland had to choose a new supplier & retail brand, due to many reasons, including the ability to offer superior card option for TASCO customers, Caltex was considered the best choice and the partnership with Caltex is proudly continued today.

2013

INLAND TO PETROLEUM

TASCO Inland retail sites have been refurbished and the company has expanded considerably in size throughout South Eastern Australia. We become TASCO Petroleum to increase awareness of TASCO’s core business throughout the region.

2014

BARRETT PETROLEUM

TASCO Petroleum expands into South Australia this time, with the acquisition of Barrett Petroleum. Gaining with the expansion Wholesale Depots & Retail sites located in Tailem Bend, Murray Bridge, Naracoorte and Bordertown.

2016

CELEBRATIONS & FURTHER EXPANSION

TASCO Petroleum celebrates another major milestone, celebrating 60 years in business, together with employees, business partners, families & friends. TASCO Petroleum acquires further Caltex Wholesale Depots & Retail Sites with the acquisition of various Caltex South East sites.

2019

BUSINESS CONTINUES

TASCO Petroleum continues to provide quality fuels & lubricants throughout various locations across Australia, acquiring new retail sites regularly. The company grows rapidly and welcomes new staff, family members and partnerships, whilst remaining the proudly family owned and country based company it has always been.

2020

TRANSITIONS BEGIN

TASCO Petroleum proudly partners with Evie Networks to install two electric vehicle charging stations, the first for South Australia and only the seventh nationwide located at Tailem Bend Roadhouse and the second located at Tarcutta Roadhouse. Supplier Caltex Australia announces it will be transitioning to AMPOL Australia, with TASCO forecast to begin the branding transition within the year.

2021

AMPOL TRANSITION

The Ampol transition began and many sites across our network went from Caltex to Ampol, with the remainder scheduled for completion within the following year. Our site at Robinvale was also extensively renovated.
